Barnes on 99x this morning?

Someone please correct me, as I am likely to be wrong, but I tuned in while sitting in the gridlock this morning and I caught the tail end of an old bit from the MorningX show with Bertha (who, if I recall correctly, was their oldest freeloader at the time). This bit included Barnes and a Morning X jingle... then after the break it was back to the usual TJL....

The only thing that would make sense to me is that Bertha may have recently shuffled off her mortal coil and it was played as a memorial....
Edited by MisterDaisy on 01/09/06 04:31 PM.

Unfortunately, Bertha Hirsch did make her transition this weekend. She was 98.

Jimmy gave a really nice semi-impromptu eulogy honoring her memory. She really was a lot of fun to hear when she would come on the Morning X. Jimmy must have been a lot closer to her than we knew from the bits they did with her. You could tell that Jimmy was quite upset by Bertha's passing.

And yes, you DID hear Barnes this morning. After Jimmy & Leslie said what they had to say, they played the clips of Bertha from one of the Morning X "Greatest Hits" Cd's they put out a few years ago. They also played the parody that Jimmy & Bertha recorded of "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" (originally done by Neil Diamond & Barbara Streisand)...it was pretty funny.

It was actually a nice segment and a great way to remember Bertha. She really was a gem, and will be missed by many.
