Barnstable Studios

After the Entercom/Barnstable buyout is finalized, what will happen to the Barnstable studios for WGVC, WROQ, and WTPT at McAllister? Will they stay where they are or will they be moved in with the Entercom ones?

I haven't discussed it with anyone at Entercom but have no doubt all studios will be at 25 Garlington. Entercom didn't build that place from scratch but renovated it so thoroughly it is the same as new. There was always the assumption that eventually, Entercom would own the Barnstable stations. It just took longer than it was supposed to. Since they sold one station that was housed there, they only need two more studios. Their is plenty of room on the top floor to add studios in a way consistent with the existing stations. It won't be a shoehorn fit or aesthetically incompatible.<P ID="signature">______________

The McAllister Square studios are pretty decent looking too -- how long have they been there?

I don't know. I only moved to Greenville in 2002. I've seen all the major radio facilities in Greenville, including Barnstable. They're nice but Entercom has the best studios and equipment. This will be a move up for the Barnstable employees Entercom retains.
