Baron switches agents

Jimmy Baron, who had been repped by Glenn Goldstein, has switched to Bob Eatman, who also reps Eric Von Haessler, the Kimmer, Bert Weiss and Clark Howard, to name a few. Baron, who left 99X about eight months ago, is still seeking a job.

Bob Eatman:
Mancow
Opie And Anthony
Ron an Fez
Adam Corolla
Kevin and Bean
Kidd Kraddick - Rich from Toucher and Rich's old show
Todd Schnitt - MJ Kelly

The guy has pretty much EVERY big name in the business...

He has also SCREWED many of his clients. has no problem putting his priority clients (O and A etx) on against his smaller, local clients and stands back and is of no help when they get creamed. Or anything to make the commission: Look at Mancow, fired from Q101, eatman slides another one of his clients (Alan Cox) into Cow's old spot, how hard could he have been working to get the Cow resigned if he was so quick to install another one fo his clients in his spot?. Eatman is a ot too trustworthy guy (even for an agent..lol) and a lot of people do not want to even deal with him. Good luck to he who signs with that guy!.

PS

Since when are Ron and Fez big name radio talents?

Mancow got rid of Eatman as his agent earlier this year, before getting fired from KQX. I don't think either of the Regular Guys have been represented by him for a while. MJ/Schnitt also switched from him this year, as did Scott Ferrall last year before being signed to Sirius.

Other people he represents include Kidd Chris, JV and Elvis, and the hosts of El Vacilón de la Mañana in NYC.

Cut Eatman some slack. Jocks changing agents is as common as stations changing ad reps. It happens. Eatman stood by O&A when the industry turned its back on them. Them and others. He's made millionaires out of dozens of jocks nationally. Getting into awkward situations with same-market talent is the nature of the beast. And no, I'm not rep'd by him, but have been aware of him for years.

Your point here makes no sense. You're saying Eatman couldn't have cared very much about Mancow keeping his gig because his other client was waiting in the wings, but let's do the math. Mancow was easily making 7 figures, Cox (who I believe is doing his first morning show) is probably making no more than $150K. Now, if you're their agent and you get a cut of their salaries, which cut would you rather have?

Alan Cox had done mornings for 7 years in Pittsburgh before going to Chicago. Just the fact's ma'am

He'd been in Pittsburgh for a while but most of that time was in afternoons... pretty sure he'd only done mornings for a couple of years.... when CC dumped Stern from all of their stations WXDX slid Cox into mornings. The other thing about that show he's doing now is there's a staff of around a dozen (including writers, producers, and contributing performers... it's supposed to be a radio version of "The Daily Show"), so it's not like Q-101 went from paying Mancow 7 figures to just paying Cox 250k or whatever.

Yes as bobbyBooey pointed out Cox didmornings in the Burgh as of Sterm's firing from Clear Channel, before that he did quite well in afternoons. Talented, and a good dude.

Yes, I'm sure Q101 is paying a lot for such a huge cast. But the original point was that Bob Eatman couldn't have been trying to hard for Mancow to stay because He had Alan Cox waiting in the wings. And to that my point still stands because, while Q may still be paying seven figs for the entire show, Eatman is only making 10% off Cox. And even if he's making $250K it's still a substantial loss for Eatman.

Cow was being hugely overpaid to the tune of 3 million, having said that you're right Cox is making nowhere near that. BUT he knew that the Cow got the bums rush but he still made a commission off of Cox and 10% of a smaller salary is better than no commission at all. And for whoever posted that Mancow had switched agents I dont believe that is correct. I KNOW he was not happy about Eatman's involvement with Opie and Anthony but Eatman also made Mancow, a marginal talent at best, Eatman got him the big bucks in Chicago, long before Q101.
