Barry already attacking Bruce

Funny, Barry accused Bruce St. James of listening to his show to steal topics for the day.

But, if you listen to Neal Boortz' show which comes on before Barry, it sure sounds a lot alike.

Another cheap shot by Barry Young, who is looking increasingly old and stale...

Fact is, there are only so many topics every day, only so many talking points that the dems and reps send out only so many buttons you can push with your audiences. Bread and circuses. Everyone steals the same lame stories from everyone, there just isn't that much to talk about some days.

Hey, when will we have our first Monsoon storm? I'm ready to report that its raining where I am.....

I heard him make that comment a few days back and just found it amusing. I don't think Bruce does that much show prep--how hard is it to throw out a topic and solicit phone calls. We all know Barry doesn't take calls, so at least he has to do something :).

There have been people in Phoenix that have stolen material from other local and national shows right down to the punchline... I don't believe the Barely Famous Nearly Young needs to steal from Bortz, whose show is heard only if not preempted for colon blow, seaweed infomercials, transmitter maintenance or the board op fell asleep is not likely to be heard by Barry.

What is all the more amusing is that Barry Young hasn't been on his show thus far this week - Barry Markson is guest hosting for him.

Wow....

So, Barry Young said what about Mr. St. James?

hmmm......

Sorry, you're Barry wrong about which Barry was on KFWhyEye. On Monday it was The Nearly Annoying Barry Markson. Tuesday it was the Nearly Bald Barry Young. As far as Wednesday goes....we'll see. As far as the comments about "Bruce"...we don't care Barry much about it.

My point is that there are only 4 topics each day essentially, and each host tries to make it sound fresh and new.

The real gift is to make it sound fresh. When you hear a guy like Hannity or Laura what's her name or Mike Gallagher throw out the exact same talking points and clever jokes each day, it gets old. Like when Barry makes the daily lame joke about little countries and he calls one "spittoon" mildly amusing the first 5 times, but lame the last 345 times. Or Mark Levin screaming about something that he screamed about last week, its theatrics.

Its like seeing a comedian you like, and you think he was so clever and off the cuff, but then you see him again in a few months and its the same show and all the stuff that looked contemporaneous was just scripted.

BTW, Monsoon season officially started today, and Rush Limbaugh did not marry Elton John, I was mistaken.

You could have at least checked out the podcast on kfyi.com before stating that.

:D

Ok lets get back to the year 2010. News about Barry Young talking about other people stealing ideas from his show has been going on since.... well, as far as I know personally, 2005, and that's only when I found out. I'm sure it's been going on much longer than that. In other words, it's old news. Just a new person being blamed this time. I remember when he used to jokingly say if you don't catch his show, don't worry because you will hear it repeated the next morning on Bruce Jacob's show. Lastly, every idea in life is mostly created based on something someone else has either done, thought, or mentioned. The fresh new ideas are normally ideas that someone has taken in, converted into their own creative style, then redirected outwardly. At least Barry Young saw that even though everyone does it, no one else brings it up, so when he accuses other people of stealing from his show, it's funnier because it sounds like it's only happening to him. It would become less funny if everyone else jumped on that and everyone started accusing everyone of stealing from their show.

By the way, I must admit that out of all shows, I really dislike when Barry Young's show has a substitute guest, because no one filling in to that particular show could ever make it the same as Barry Young.

As far as Bruce St James, I love his show as well because he not only blatantly tells it like it is and admits he doesn't care what people think, but he brings variety topics that are mostly intriguing! He may not have the signature voice or a certain signature style and sound, but Bruce just being himself on the air is good enough.
