Barry Grant

It was mentioned on the CT Radio History Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/ctbroadcastinghistory

How many people establish themselves as a local radio celeb doing the overnight show? Grant's Tomb on WDRC AM & FM was a favorite of lots of late night baby boomers in the seventies before he became a PD.

Barry's radio run points out at least two things:
- Never assume "nobody's listening" at any given time (no WXCT comments, please)
- It's the person who makes the position, not the other way around (although being on a big signal under Charlie Parker's direction certainly helped)
 
So agree..grants tomb was well programmed..it was far from a graveyard shift. Barry Grant and Otis were icons at drc. Both now rest in peace
 
Sad news.
Always a *MUST* listen back then.
Nowadays the term "overnight personality" is an oxymoron.
