BAS Update: Changes at WTTF, some hints at WCPZ and WMJK, and no WPFX...

Check out BAS' website.

http://www.basohio.com

Even though it is really Spartan in its' design, there is at least some big hints as to their future plans after flipping WLEC back from sports to oldies/ez/standards last year:

* WTTF looks to be axing it's Fox Sports affiliation for Timeless as well... if it didn't already. Go to www.timelessfavorites.com and type up Tiffin's zip code, you get all the magic... kinda. (And WTTF's new logo is similar to WLEC's, go figure.) Dunno if the live programming that's graced WTTF for its' entire history is gone, either. Probably isn't... the Timeless programming should be on just from 8pm until 6am, matching up with the local sched. Seems to me that BAS wants to couple WTTF with WLEC to the east and WMVO to the south.

* WCPZ will have a new logo for Mix 102.7, due to it's divorce from Clear Channel (who owned the logo trademark). It links to wcpz.com, even though the web page says "coming soon." Looks to keep the Hot AC format, but there's zero indication that they took ABC/Citadel's Hits and Variety channel (no zip code links AT ALL) They also could theoretically keep Scott Glazer as imaging voice, given that he's now a part of CBS Radio's WQAL and WDOK and likely would freelance. His work on WCPZ was low-maintainence and durable, so it wouldn't be a problem...

* WMJK will keep the "Coast" name and logo. Again, no indication that they will pick up ABC/Citadel's Classic Rock Experience channel, with no zip code links either.

* No links or references AT ALL to WPFX, which now appears to be the red-headed stepchild in the entire group. Unfortuately, BAS bought the station in a market that CC may literally have to donate to the 3rd-shift janitor just to take it off the books... so BAS may have to keep it. A relay of WOHF perhaps (92.1/107.7 The Wolf), as a way to bring oldies back to Findlay/Lima?

This is at least some concrete proof amidst all the specuation that floated here.

WLEC just flipped from sports to music this month. Not last year. And for a guy that thinks BAS is bad for Sandusky you seem to spend alot of time talking about them. Concrete proof? I think not. So far nobody has been able to truly predict exactly what BAS will do and when. You should try actually working in broadcasting sometime. It might give you better insight into the way it really works.

What? And take a pay cut from this high dollar $7.25 an hour job at Lawsons?

All that "please enter zip code" stuff is so generic & fake. Do they really think people are falling for the fact that it's all 90% virtually unmanned now? You can't even listen to the stream now. Why not just have 1 website for all of them? Why bother?
