Baseball For All

This is a good idea. Is this the first time that Fox 61 has aired the Stankees...while WB20 has aired the Red Sux at the same time?

Well, for as long as I can remember WTXX has carried Mets games for twenty years or so--mainly from W(W)OR Channel 9--now of course WPIX Channel 11. And The Red Sox have been on channel 20 during the time when WLVI was the TV flagship. I must say for Tribune, this is a gem of an idea--sometimes corporate TV can have its advantages--maybe rare, but this is one not to miss out on.

The broadcasters--For the Sox/Orioles--Jerry "Rem Dawg" Remy and Matt "Santa Maria" Vasgersian (TV Voice of the Padres. That's his call whenever something amazing happens). For the Yanks and Angels--Dick Stockton (former Red Sox announcer ironically) and Tim McCarver--looks like Joe Buck is busy with "other things." But it's such a glorious day for baseball in Boston and the Bronx, I feel jealous for the players and fans.

I believe some of this is explained on Wikipedia, if you look at the page on WFSB TV. It is explained that which games to cover have always been problematic, since the CBS affilate for the Springfield-Amherst DMA has been WFSB, so there has always been a dilema by the networks as to which games to cover, Sox? Yanks? Patriots? Giants? Whalers? Bruins? I don't really understand it myself but because of the market overlap, the region often misses out on Sox and Patriots games.

Joe Buck was doing the NFL preseason game in Saint Louis a couple of nights ago. Anyway, how did Tribune get the permission from FOX to carry the game?

In the article link I posted from fox61.com and wtxx.com it says FOX and MLB gave them the rights to do this. Not to be rude but did anyone care to read the article link I left with my post? As most of the infomation is right in it.

Now I read the link to the WTXX-TV article. What does Tribune mean by "FOX's #1 Club"?
