BASEBALL IN THE TRIAD?

I wonder whose going to be the Atl. Braves radio affiliate for the Gso/W.Sal./Hi.Pt.
area? It's not likely 790am,but I hope it could be one of the 3 stations from the
Triad Sports Network(1200/1230/1320),WLXN 1400 AM ,WZTK 101 FM or some
station like that.I love college FB/Hoops as the next guy,but I need my baseball
fix otherwise,I'll have to get SIRIUS(no pun intended)??? :-\.

Unfortunately, that's the direction professional sports is heading. Player Salaries and Fat Cat Owners are making local radio affiliations more difficult. PAY for PLAY is the future.

Even though I listen to the Durham Bulls nearly every night in the summer on 620, I would love it if any station would cut back the national talk shows during the summer nights and pick up my beloved Orioles (or the Nats or the Braves or anybody) and put it on the air in Durham.

I miss the Braves broadcasts from the former Triangle Sports Talk 1490/1090. It would be nice ot Capitol Broadcasting, who owns the two sports stations in the Triangle market, would bring them back, but it would probably be a conflict of interest, since they own the Tampa Bay Rays-affiliated Durham Bulls...

Too bad WSB is no longer the affiliate or you could at least hear night games.

I don't recall that anyone aired the Braves in recent years before 790 AM went all soports.

Would be nice to hear WSJS-AM pick up the Atlanta Braves.

Pirate Radio 1250/930 Greenville carried the Braves, and now the carry the Orioles. I don't know of anyone else around carrying MLB though.

Change of sport: can anyone tell me who (if anyone does) has the rights to air Bobcats games in the Triangle? No one has since WDNC before it was sold to Capital.
