Baseball News

The Radio Racket, WIP & WPEN in Philly are reporting that two-year Mets play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy is heading back to the broadcast booth to call three innings of Phillies TV (no radio) games in 2008 ... a post he held prior to moving to the Mets.

In addition, after years of controversy and discourse ... it appears that maybe Chris Wheeler is out of the Phils broadcasts to make way for McCarthy's return.

The obvious dislike between Phils voice, Harry Kalas, and Wheeler has, hopefully, come to an end.

Maybe the Mets will bring in Scott Graham to replace McCarthy?

At least now Tom knows he'll be with a team that won't give him any concern of a collapse...

Too soon?

(...at least until they get into the playoffs...lol)

I never liked McCarthy. Every play was over described.

"Hit slowly on the ground to the third baseman Wright who fields the ball with his glove and steadies himself to make the throw to Delgado at first which is on time for the first out in this top of the first inning"

It was like Felix Unger calling Monday Night Football
