Baseball on KRLD

Sitting in traffic the other day I flip over to KRLD for a traffic report and found Rangers baseball got me wondering, cosidering how bad the team is doing and normally does every year does KRLD drag their own ratings down by broadcasting each game? If the Rangers did better I can see logic in broadcasting them since I would think the team would have much more fans but they're just so awful. Perhaps if they had owners who actually cared how they did then it would reflect on their performance but I guess that's a topic for a different message bored.

I look forward to your feedback.

I feel the pregame, Post game and a ranger call in show is a bit much, but they sell ads.

A couple of years ago I pulled the numbers and looked- generally speaking, I'd say the daytime and nighttime audience at KRLD are very different, and that the Rangers don't really contribute to building KRLD's audience. But given that, they do sell ads.

IIRC (and it's been years) the nighttime audience is younger, mostly male. KRLD's audience overall is older and more split m/f.

And my research seemed to indicate that while people tuned in for the game, they weren't sticking around to listen to news the next morning....IOW< people ONLY turned in for the game, there was little vertical or horizontal recycling...
