Baseball Playoffs on Radio Hope

I've been hearing WEPN FM's coverage of the MLB playoff games, rebroadcast on the W268AN translator, which carries the Christian station on 101.5.
Radio Hope covers Long Island from end to end with a chain of translators, and a conventional FM station, WLIX 107.1. So I am wondering whether this arrangement to broadcast play by play on Radio Hope's system has been implemented to enhance the chances of WEPN FM securing rights to cover the Yankees games during the regular season. They may possibly use this to be able to offer the team the selling point that the many Yankee fans on LI can clearly hear WEPN coverage of their games, all the way east to Montauk.

Barry,

This feed is coming from ESPN's NATIONAL Baseball coverage, and to the best of my knowledge has nothing to do with WEPN. It's an independent agreement between the Hope network and ESPN Radio's national arm. That being said, if the Yankees and WEPN did reach an agreement, coverage on Long Island would certainly be an issue.

Not to nit-pick, but 107.1 is WLIR, not WLIX. 94.7 WLIX is currently "The Penthouse" in Middle Island.

You are correct. I was confused by the fact that Hope Radio's URL is WLIXRadio.com.
I was not aware that 94.7 WLIX recently began an Adult Standards format. According to Wikipedia, it started early last month.

WLIX is 94.9 94.7 is Family Radio.....Not to nit-pick But WLIR 107.1 is one of the stations of the WLIX family
and now allows them to run spots, baseball games etc. on low power FM stations...

LISTEN TO THE LEGAL ID....

No, WLIX is 94.7...it is on the same frequency as WFME, but the West Orange station's signal dies around Exit 55 of the LIE. It seems that the Christian broadcaster that was using WLIX/Ridge had a falling out and is now switching their ministry to "Hope Radio".

OK...Major I see what your are saying...maybe we live in two radio zones...That being said, west central Long Island WFME 94.7 is still very strong from NYC. WLIX IS ON 94.9 is the first ring of WLIX low power stations..
What do you mean about falling out? Richard Anderson Voice Of hope is Hope radio...Check out the WLIX.com home page...Not trying to prove who is right, just trying to find out what is....As Bill O says "WHAT SAY YOU?"

PS: On the WLIX site here's what they have listed......94.9 104.5 96.9 96.5 107.1 101.5.....

Checking with the boys and girls in Washington, DC, WLIX-LP/Ridge is the only station licensed to use those call letters.

I never said they were all WLIX....Under the banner of WLIX THE HOPE
are the fm's I listed... again I say Listen to the ID....

According to announcements on Hope Radio, they have a programming agreement with ESPN to carry sports on the Christian network. They call this Champions Radio. They apparently will be carry more than just baseball. It also is worth noting that Hope Radio calls are WLIR at TOH. They dont use WLIX as calls but the old name wlix radio is still used in change over. I hope they get the Jets!

It looks like this Christian station is carrying Knicks games. I can't find a lot of information about it on the website but I heard some of the game last night on the 107.1 frequency. They are calling the sports format "Champions Radio". I heard some of the imaging for it during the game. Pretty cool stuff. Anyone else know anything?
