I was just outside listening to my Roku Internet Radio and listening to WIP ... daydreaming.

I said, "You know, I can't just keep thinking about how close the Eagles came to beating the Patriots anymore ... I need something else, more enlightening, to ponder."

So, I started to daydream, listening to Howard Eskin.

I thought I fell asleep ... wondering when the Phils would can Chris Wheeler and give Harry Kalas a peaceful New Year, at least on television.

As I fell deeper to sleep ... I swear I was thinking, "What the Phils need to do is bring back ... oh, I don't know ... Tom McCarthy, maybe, to do some innings next season. Yeah ... bring back McCarthy from the Mets...for at least TV, if not radio."

Suddenly, I awoke, with such a clatter, my wife ran outside to see what was the matter ...

"I must have had a nightmare," I exclaimed. "For Radiofan2007 isn't part of the message board chatter."

But the Radio Racket is ... and they posted the jolly good news first ... and WPEN quickly chimed in as well.

And heck, I'm in California and heard the "Breaking News" before radiofan2007 posted a single word about his "good friend."

Amazing how fast news can fly ...

Maybe the cellphones aren't working in Port Richmond today.
 
First i wanna welcome back Mr Tommy Mccarthy to home where we are glad to have him and 2nd I wanna let everyone I am goin to work on having Tom on my show before Christmas stay tuned for more announcements.
 
Tom McCarthy back with the Phillies

Doing PxP on the TV side as the heir apparent to Harry Kalas.

It'll be an easier commute for McCarthy as he lives near Trenton. He spent the last 2 years with the Mets and sounded a lot like Gary Cohen but came off as too robotic.
 
It was Tommy's dream job but he is comin home casue he moves to the tv side which should be a huge salary increase
 
Con: This will probably move Chris Wheeler back into the color commentator's chair full-time, which is ultra-annoying and makes me want to shoot my television.

Pro: If Tom McCarthy is the heir apparent to Harry Kalas, then that means Wheeler is not. Whew.

Looking forward to a many seasons of Harry / Tom / Harry again. Hopefully Wheeler and Sarge get hit by a couple of line drive foul balls and force the Phillies to bring Scott Graham back, too.
 
Reports out of NYC claim Scottie is headin to the radio booth of the Mets
