He started in radio in 1950, and was on KCBS for over 25 years, first as a late-night disc jockey, ending up as the morning anchor when the station went All-News in the late 60s. He then was tapped by KPIX about 1977 to be their anchor - kind of as an antedote to the blow-dried hair pretty boy anchormen that were popular at the time. If you remember, Dave was portly and balding. I think he put in about 20 successful years at KPIX. The station did a big tribute and send off for him when he retired. As far as I know, Elaine Corall has not returned to the air anywhere. Though there was speculation about her sudden departure from KTVU, her reasons were personal and private, and the station maintained silence about the whole thing. I know Paul Udell, one of KRON's seemingly endless series of anchors in the 80s-early 90s, has been an anchor in Honolulu for years now. I had remembered him from the KNXT (Los Angeles) news in the Jerry Dunphy era (60s). I heard about a decade ago that Jim Paymar (also KRON) was one of the people who started the Travel Channel on Cable. George Redding (yes, also KRON) went back to Sacramento to anchor for awhile, and does a show about San Joaquin Valley business and happenings produced by their PBS affiliate. That about taps my memory out.
