Bay Area TV Stations to still drop Analog in February

I have heard that regardless of what Congress and the President does, that ALL BAY AREA TV STATIONS will stick with their guns and still drop their Analog Signals on FEBRUARY 17. Is this true? I wonder if the Sacramento TV Stations will still switch in February or move it to June?

Fresno TV stations KSEE 24,KMPH 26,KVPT 18,KPGE 47, KFRE 59 already filed to end Feb. 17, With everbody else doing it KFSN30 and KAIL 53 are expected to follow.

Where did you see those? I see KVPT and KSEE, but no one else in the market.

The Fresno Bee, It says Executives with KGPE,KMPH and KFRE also hope to end Analog broadcasts on Feb.17,they haven't filed yet.

So now that the House has passed the extension, meaning that the delay until June will happen, it is probably time to re-open the topic :)

But I heard that there is a provision that allows the TV Stations to still drop there Analog Signals on February 17, if they wish. It is not mandatory for them to continue until June 12.It is now up to each individual TV Stations to decide when to drop their analog signals.

Yes,I'ts up to the indivial stations and companies.KSEE 24 and KVPT 18 will still drop analog on Feb.17.I talked to a enginner at KFSN and ABC owned stations are still in discussing whether or not to change. If ABC decides to do it they will do it at KABC,KGO, and KFSN.

O & O stations like KGO are more likely going to wait til June 12.ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC /Telemundo owned stations.

As of today (February 6), KOFY TV 20 is still advertising that DTV starts on February 17. I don't know if this is an old ad still being broadcast or what? Has Obama signed that bill yet delaying DTV till June 12?

KOFY has filed a notice with the FCC to terminate their analog signal on February 17.

Which was voided by the rules change on Thursday. They have to refile by Monday at 8:59PM Pacific Time, and I imagine they will do so.

So is there a Definitive List Of WHICH Bay Area TV Stations are dropping Analog on February 17 and which ones are going to drop them on June 12? In the local paper here, They report ALL SACRAMENTO TV Stations will keep their Analog Signals till June 12.

I went to each website of Bay Area TV the only clear info is that KPIX 5 and KGO 7 will wait til June 12.KTVU,KICU,KRON,KBHK,and KNTV mention the delay but don't say there switching early.

Yes I meant KBCW,They had the KBHK call letters for over 40 years ,It's hard to imagine them as anything else. I here most PBS stations will drop analog on Feb.17 because of the cost of the power bill, I do not know if KVIE and KQED will follow with the rest.In Fresno KVPT 18 and KSEE 24 will end for sure on Feb.17.
I read in the Fresno Bee today that most Fresno stations Have filed to end on Feb.17,with the exception of KFSN who is owned by ABC, the approval may take longer than the Feb.17 deadline.

I am guessing that KBCW-44 will extend their Analog Signal till June 12, since their Parent Station, KPIX-5 is extending theirs. Just A Guess.

I was watching a LAW & ORDER rerun last night on KICU TV 36, and on the bottom of the screen said that There Are Only 10 Days Left Before The Switch To DTV, so I am guessing that KICU is still going to drop their Analog Signal on February 17, however I wonder about its Parent Company, KTVU? When KTVU dropped their Analog Signal, They were going to move their DTV Signal from 56 to 44. Will this affect the Analog Signal of KBCW, if they decide to postpone their DTV switch till June 12? Inquiring Minds Would Like To Know?

According To This List: http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-09-221A5.pdf The Only Bay Area TV Stations to Drop Their Analog Signal will be KOFY-20 SAN FRANCISCO, KICU-36 SAN JOSE and KCNS-38 SAN FRANCISCO as well as KUNO-8 FORT BRAGG and KFTY-50 SANTA ROSA. This kind of makes sense as all are Independents and have no alliance to a Network, maybe with the exception of KUNO that broadcasts TUVISION.
