Why? What's your rationale for this lineup? What's the point of getting rid of longtime names and calls that people recognize and have become comfortable with -- as well as certain formats being on certain frequencies -- just to switch things around and bring in out-of-market calls (some of which are still being used in other cities) and station names that don't match their formats? Why have 2 Top 40s and 5 FM Sports stations and no Urban station, do you really think San Francisco's listeners would support that?

Hot 103.7 would be Urban AC, and they're isn't 5 sports stations, only three, ESPN Bay Area would be Simlucast on 92.7 Alameda, 92.1 Walnut Creek, and 101.7 Livermore. And yes, their are quite a few FM Talk stations, but if this line-up was used, their would be no use of the AM band for most people

I'm not saying that people would support it, I'm just putting down what I came up with, I'm not seriously saying all these stations should/would flip

Obviously, I don't think this is going to become "the way it is." I'm just curious to know what your rationale is for saying that this is the way you'd make it, and I was questioning your choices especially given San Francisco's market demos and makeup.

Urban AC is extremely different from mainstream Urban, they have completely different playlists and serve two completely different demographics and listener lifestyles -- you can't substitute one for the other. I also see no reason why one would want to give up the entire AM band simply so most people wouldn't have a use for it. That's valuable real estate that would allow space for other formats from FM, and regardless of whether it's a simulcast or not, you're still using 5 separate signals for Sports.

But for one of those I'm tieing 3 sub-par signals together to make one station. I don't really think that theres any major format holes in this line-up, and one signal is enough for Urban

You're not listening to me. You've said 1 signal will be Urban AC (originally tagged as Rhythmic AC, which is nothing like Rhythmic either), and you have no mainstream Urban station. Urban AC and Urban are NOT the same format by a long shot. For a market that currently supports 2 full-on Rhythmic stations (one of which leans well into the Urban realm), your scenario basically takes away any sense of Urban coverage.

KGO will likely end up on FM but no way is Pacifica going to give up 94.1 even if Cumulus overpaid for it. KNBR Sportsradio on 104.5? Possible, but I think KGO will go to FM first. Cumulus has two FMs in SF, 107.7 and 104.5 simulcast with 97.7 in San Jose. Citadel has no FMs in the Bay Area.

If KNBR and KGO are both to go to FM, Cumulus will either have to blow up KSAN and KFOG or acquire other full-signal FMs in SF. :)

OK, since it's Bay Area radio, "my way," here's mine:

95.7 - My Jazz FM (KLKA) - real jazz that I like, none of that "smooth" stuff

98.1 My Kiss-FM (KLKB) - Old School soul that pleases me, but again - none of the burn-outs

99.7 - My Classic Hits (KLKV) - Classic Top 40 hits that I like, none of that burnt to a crisp stuff

102.1 My Classic Classical (KLKD) - Classical music that I like. I don't really know classical music, but I know what I...

106.1 My Hip Hop FM (KLKE) - All the rap and hip-hop that I like. (This station will have a very short play list ;D)

107.7 David FM (KAYE) - An eclectic combination of Western Swing, Polka, and Turkish pop music. OK, this one's not about me.

I predict a huge 0.3 rating for all of these formats!
