Got to see the 95.7 commercial preview. Wow! Who knew U2 was a classic rock group??? Classic rock is dead in New Orleans. Jacobs media has Mike playing the same crap thats played in every other city they consult for. They should let "Pal Al" or "Wierdo Bro" consult for them, they'd do as good of a job for a third of what there paying the consultants. Whats being done is playing it safe. Doing the A-Z thing is only good when your library is varied and deep. Do a morning mini concert by a different artist each week, track an albun in it's entirety in the evening. Do something different! Mike did'nt have any problem playing some four hour liberal "Bush hating" concert some time back, go out on a limb Mike, maybe play some live bootleg cut of some concert on You Tube. Play someting classic rock lovers want to hear, play Classic Rock!!!
 
bayou is horrible. but just about any classic rock station is. the classic rock format hasnt been done well since the early 90s. classic rock 92.3 was the last good classic rock station.
 
I haven't seen the new commercial but I don't get W&J either. Seems like they should have hung it up awhile back. Bayou doesn't seem like a classic rock to me anyway, but Im old and out of their demo probably.
 
Walton & Johnson were good when they were on B-97! Before that on Q-93, I don't remember well. After that on WCKW was like they are now... political. Every morning, it's all about Republicans this, Democrats that, we hate illegal aliens from Mexico, etc....

Go back to the way you guys were! It won't hurt to try it out and see if the public responds in a positive way.

Its been 10+years since I even heard W and J. I cant believe they are even around now. They sucked in 1997 and I am pretty sure they suck now!

It's sad when a syndicated morning show is number 1 in any market, Biloxi-Gulfport included.

Now, get back to the Mississippi board where you belong (just kidding).

Just saw the 95.7 commercial for the first time...why couldn't the out-of-town know-nothing-about New Orleans programmer have the out-of-town voice broad at least pronounce the city correctly...NEW EARL-INS...good Lord!

BTW---I understand Warren with ya introduced Zebra onstage at the Gretna fest...and the crowd went nuts! Here's an ideal line-up,
Captain Humble mornings, Pal Al middays, Weerdo Bro afternoons, and Warren With Ya nights...
 
Well, With the exception of Warren, Mikey and that krewe have never kissed a girl! But anyway, Not gonna happen, here's why. Cap makes too much sellin po-boys to leave that gig. Pal would be an ideal choice at that mid-day or evening drive position, but would rather vote Democrat in the next election and have waterboard torture than work for Mike "would'nt you too??". Warren? Well, Mike would run him off because of his style of managment, or lack of. Warren needs to be left alone and let him do his show. Wayne "Weerdo" would be a fool to come and work in New Orleans with what he's put together in Mississippi. Yours is a pipe dream sir. If Mike Kaplan were not there, I believe Pal would be a shoe in, and Warren would be a possible hire "as long as he can keep the paper route". Ben Stigler would be a good mid-day guy and put Pal in D-time, Warren at nights and Tommy Tucker along with "now get this" Tierza Simmons as a side dish in the morning. I know what your thinking, but it WILL work. Now if you can't get Warren, I would put Kat there and be very phone intensive. Old men like to talk to hot chicks at night "yeah shea pretty hot". And here's the dirty little secret, Andy Holt would love to get the job, but knows they'll never take it away from Mike because of his close ties to Mr. Pat. And, if Bayou does too good it will take numbers away from the BIG "L", and nobody wants that.
 
Ouch, and thanks, you are correct I am quite happy with my situation in Biloxi...I don't believe N'Awlins radio could come anywhere close to both the content-ness and/or pay of hot lil' Market 154. Now that's sad...
