Hey I just wanted to say that lately I've been listening to Radio 1 channel 11 and I really enjoy it. I know it's in the UK but for me, a big dance music fan, I like the programming on there. They have a good mixture of today's hit music and plenty of new dance music too.

Overall... it's a BLOODY GOOD STATION!! LOL

Seeing radio1 is one of the most-listened to stations on sirius, I would imagine that they would go after the whole BBC analog tier (radio1-5) plus the digital tier stations (1xtra,6 music,BBC 7,Five Live Sports Extra). I wouldmt mind it, better than a quite few stations on their already.

now that's just crazy talk..... but I like it and agree!!! =)

I'll admit that the station plays some good music, but I feel that there's too much chatter in between the music.....so with my 30 minute commute, I can only hear a couple of songs.

How do you know this, I have never seen any data concerning most listened to stations. Is there info available, a link?

Just curious.

Thanks

BBC Radio 1 can be a bit chatty for my taste, too, although that chattiness can also be part of the station's charm. So for me, that cuts both ways.

I've said it before, though, and I'll say it now, that the biggest improvement that could be made here would be for Sirius to post title-and-artist listings to listeners' radio screens, the way it does with so many of its other music streams.

One other improvement that could be made is strictly personal and might not affect anyone else: For me, the 6 PM - 7 PM Sunday timeslot is generally filled such that I can't tune in to the end of the chart show (which runs from 4 PM to 7 PM)... Maybe the station could re-run the chart show earlier or later? (Or maybe I'm missing something?)

On the other hand, BBC Radio One arguably makes it easier for American listeners to keep up with the British music scene. There's been a gap as wide as the Atlantic Ocean between the British and American music scenes dating back to before The Beatles (and, as a result, we Americans have arguably missed out on some great music -- and surely some mediocrities too -- an effect that also cuts the other way to the other side of the ocean) but it's helpful that Sirius now airs a British pop music station.

That's British radio for you - it's very chatty. They even do news at the top of the hour, even on the privately owned stations (all of which seem to be CHR).<P ID="signature">______________

Actually, being something of a news hound myself, I like that the British stations sometimes tend to run news. To my American ears, it sounds like a throwback but definitely in a good way.

BTW, FWIW, I also listen to Sirius OutQ amongst any number of other Sirius streams. And OutQ's air talent definitely could be considered chatty -- I've even heard Jeremy Hovies chat about what's going on in his life whilst DJing his overnight "Last Call" show. (Recently, for example, I heard him kvetching about his computer troubles at home and at work.) But that can be entertaining to listen to. Granted, most of the other OutQ air talents (such as John McMullen, Michelangelo Signorile, Frank DeCaro and Derek & Romaine) run talk shows, which are chatty by nature.

Re: BBC Radio 1 on Sirius (and an OutQ aside)

> > I LOVE the "chattiness". BBC Radio 1 is one of my two most listened to channels on Sirius, and I love it just the way it is. In fact, American radio could take a big hint from British radio and add more "chattiness" and information. I hate the "jukebox" approach that American radio has been dumbed down to, and I welcome all of the full-service, information that British radio still does. I also love all of the interaction and "life" of the station. This is compelling radio, not just a computer automated, lifeless, jukebox. I wish all of Sirius's channels had this kind of personality.

Also, I'm a big British buff and fan, so being able to keep up with all the latest British fads and info is a huge draw for me. So I love BBC Radio 1 and I actually am hoping that in the future, Sirius also will add BBC Radio 2, which is great as well.
