I was flipping through earlier and heard a continous loop for this station, basically talking about how it will be time delayed, etc. Anywho, I looked at the screen on my reciever and this continous loop is on Channel 97, on the screen it said coming soon BBC Radio 1 (not the exact quote of course), anywho, looks like 97 will be the location of it...

Heres my big question: Whats the hold up?? I mean, it isnt like howard, where it involves a new studio. is it a rights issue or is it equipment related? Also, I hope this isnt some "temporary" programming decision like they've done with other channels on here. I would think if Sirius was "Serious" about presenting other programming from abroad, they would make a long-tem commitment about it.

Not sure about what the holdup is... However, IMO, it will most likely be within the next month or so. While Martha Stewart's Station says on it "Coming This Fall", the BBC 1 Station says "Coming Soon"

Sirius putting Radio 1 on its service seems utterly pointless. It's a national music channel playing European top 40 stuff. They would have been far better off offering Radio 3 (serious music) or Radio 4 (news/information/drama/spoken word). You could program a pop music service from Sirius HQ.

Hi. I'm over in England. The news here is that it's equipment related. It was supposed to start two weeks ago, or so, and Chris Moyles made this whole big deal, brand new jingles and stuff. He does a traffic report which focuses on one road for the entire show, and they did an American road.. also told American weather.. only to find out 2 days later that it was a non-starter!

I hope Chris isn't under the illusion that lots of people would have heard it had it hit the air in America. He has an audience of millions on his home turf but he'd have been lucky to have had 1,000 Americans hear his cute U.S. traffic and weather report.

More importantly, the UK couldn't care less about Sirius, but I'm sure Chris and the BBC will play it up to make it all seem much bigger than it is. I think it's bollocks for Chris to bother with it. A one-time gag, cool. And he already did it.

I wonder what line Sirius is feeding those poor BBC folk. If Chris thought he was being heard across the pond and it took 2 days to discover he wasn't, that doesn't sound very organized.

I have a feeling this is only the beginning with BBC Radio and Sirius...If they play their cards right, they should bring 1-7 + xtras over and run them all on their own sub tier.

I think the sports rights might be an issue with 5 & Five Live, but I am not a sports fan, and if Sirius did add the entire BBC lineup as described above, I would have to reconsider subscribing.
