Anybody out there know about this station? I heard it traveling thru NYC, Queens, Brooklyn and SI. Broadcasting in a foreign language with top 40 type music and commercials. One of the ads was for a doctor office on ocean pkwy in Brooklyn so I strongly suspect it is Russian. Even though I really couldnt understand anything they said, it didnt sound like a pirate. Actually was quite professional. But I didnt think there are any stations licensed below 88.1.

There have been dozens of posts. Look for "WNYZ". Yes, it's legal.

These russian broadcasters are leasing the audio portion of a low-power TV station On channel 6. You can pick up any Channel 6 on 87.7 FM. As the person above mentioned it's WNYZ.
