I know that the song names are listed as they play, but I just noticed something. When they do their bit, ripping on Jim Rome (which is funny BTW) They play the same intro Rome does, Welcome To The Jungle and I notice under "Now Playing" on the stream, the song was listed.

If the jock starts to play a song, even for it a bit, is it somehow connected to the stream so that the song name displays?

i'm actually curious as to how yes.com works....because even my college station has music and psa's listed, and none of the music is played through a computer, just by cd.....weird

I've heard that they actually have automated listening stations with tuners set up all over the place that get stations on the air, and feed their signals into computers that are programmed to recognize thousands of songs and other elements and create output lists from the data that are posted on their website.

If you play some obscure music track that isn't in their database, it won't list that track.

most likely they play the song from their digital hard-drive, which communicates with the Now Playing software. (If for some reason, they played this element from a CD, I don't think it would show.

Yeah I remember when you pointed that out to me Travis. Either I was on at MLN or you were, and we were in shock. Pretty cool though...definitely useful now that we're streaming since people can check out what we play and when.

And yeah...Toucher and Rich are Gods.
