BDH doing TV advertizing

It shows that he has a viable sponsor. Which is good for him, if not the station.

But what is the deal with his hair? Isn't he in his 40's?
The hair looks like some bad wig from a crappy horror movie, or the kind you get free with a box of Breeze. :p

I just dont get it. ALL my friends and family know I work in radio. Over the years I've been on and off the air. I have never posted a youtube video or a myspace bulletin or anything to let them know to listen. They do or they dont. Its doesn't matter to me. It's the "Look at me attitude" in show business that I find disgusting. We all knew it's a part of the industry but the lengths some people go to are just odd.

BTW, I guess Bob Lovell has found a media outlet that he can get the most rotation out of his advertising and his target audience.

No he's not. I do believe he spends a pittance compared to the REAL significant advertisers in this market.

He may be significant at second-rate, lower rung stations like Live, the Bone and 1360, but he's nowhere to be found on ratings/revenue powerhouses like WBAP, KLNO, Kiss, KTCK, etc.

As "Isaidso" astutely notices, his demo is renters, and most likely renters with credit crappy enough that they probably can't get a regular loan and has to resort to his company to even try to get a house. So like I said, and Isaidso said, ;D he may be significant on "blue collar' stations/shows, but he's certainly not a major advertiser in this market...

He's sooooooooooooo Rodney Anderson. ::) ;D

little1 - your prespective is very skewed by being a radio monkey, Bob spends the majority of his money with Time Warner Cable, which you apparnetly do not have, just becasue he doesnt spend in your medium, does not make him less signifcant...Now go call Mortgages USA

Well, this is RADIO info dot com. I don't really care how much money he spends on cable, when it comes to radio, he's a bit player at best...

And Time Warner Cable? LOL-

“I don’t think it’s necessarily a sign of any material change. For whatever reason, Dallas has the lowest cable penetration of any major city in the U.S., and DBS penetration is pretty high,” Moffett said in an e-mail message.

Cable penetration in Dallas is less that 40%, compared with 64% nationally. The likely reason, Fehrenbach said, is the availability of about 20 TV stations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market. The region’s flat terrain contributes to improved over-the-air signal reception.

Schaeffler said he viewed Dallas as the start of a trend, claiming cable has failed to stop satellite from taking video customers.

So he spends "the majority of his money" in a medium that reaches less than half of all consumers?

My experience has been that people advertise on cable either because it offers somewhat better geographic targeting (in other words you can chose what area will see your ad) or because they can't afford "regular" OTA TV ads, radio or newspaper.

Cable ads are incredibly cheap. If "Bob" is spending most of his money there, it's probably because he doesn't have that much ad money to begin with...

Oh, please with the radio pitch points...........in the words of Black Flag "I've heard it before, dont want to hear it again," save it for an amature. Instead please tell me how Less Is More

I saw an ad for Mr Lovell this morning that had BDH and P&K in it. I can see why they are in radio. Excellent faces for radio, well, except for Kelly. She's kind of cute.

Maybe. At closing time.

Compared to Pugs and BDH, anything is kind of cute.

I can agree with that. Sybil blew them all away and she was always pretty cool too.
