BE AWARE OF A COMCAST SCAM

Be aware...Be Very Aware of a Comcast scam ! ! !
In checking my current Comcast bill I discovered that they are attempting to charge their customers for service calls to equipment you rent from them.

My bill reflects a $24.95 charge to replace connections to their equipment over which I have no control. CONcast is spouting a line that their responsibility STOPS 12 INCHES BEFORE the cable comes into the house and anything beyond that is the customer's responsibility even though they may rent the equipment and have no control over it.

I never signed a work order and when I asked them to send me a copy of that specific service call CONcast cannot seem to find it.

Obviously, I am not paying that part of the bill and if forced to I will dump all of CONcast's equipment on its front door.

So, check your bills carefully because Comcast is trying to scam its customers wherever they can.

I called them to find out about cable at my newly purchased home. I told them I had a dish and I wanted to know if they had any deals for those moving from a dish to cable. Well, a whopping $10 off for two months and then their usual rapist rates - and since I didn't want their crummy phone service I would have ended up paying $10 less than their stupid bundle. Some deal, eh?

Well, I just cut down the tree on my property and got DSL so I don't have to even bother with these jokers! I'll keep my dish since it seems they don't need my business - they already have enough people paying these inflated prices for their crummy service.

Remember folks, it's Com-Crapstic !

I have CONcast's crummy phone service.
People, don't be conned by CONcast as I was to get their phone service. It is crap. You are talking and suddenly there is a dead spot as if you are on a cellphone.

And try to get service. Forgetaboutit. Last week the phone was dead for two days. The nasty Comcast Customer Service person I spoke with [ on my cellphone ] told me that it would take several days to get a tech out there to look at it. Take it or leave it.

When the tech came out he told me that the previous tech installed the equipment incorrectly leaving a wire exposed outside the house that was shorting the system out everytime it rained.

So, poor quality service, scam artists and crappy equipment. Yup, that's our Comcast. Getting out of CONcast ASAP !!!!

Actually, I prefer COM-CRAP myself. No, the name, not the service! My TV with them is OK, but my internet cuts out a few times a week. Time to give the boys over in Chelmsford a call! :(

The propblem is, comcast has a virtual monoply on the cable tv market in most commuinities, as it requires a contract with the city. Fall River actually tried bringing them to court becuase of the ridiculous rates they charge.

Yes, once again, it is clear that we need competition! Fios is a good start, but the rollout is too slow and not enough areas have access to it. Not to mention that we could probably use a third hard-wired alternative (dish doesn't count).

Whenever anyone gets a monopoly (as Comcrap does), you pay more and get less for your money. Although they will gleefully point out the number of channels that you now have, I will point out the fact that your bill has increased at a rate that is more than five times that of inflation!! It is extortion at its finest.

And, have you noticed that analogue channels are being dropped in favor of snow? Or that the NFL Network is being shifted into the sports package (so it costs extra)? Or that even more PPV channels are popping up on digital cable? It's all about the Benjamins, folks!

Even Fat Tony doesn't have a racket that is this airtight!!!! Comcast needs to be humbled by a loss of market share. Then (and only then) will we see service improve.

Casablanca, I've long ago fled Comcrap to Direct TV once I bought my condo. True, I had to spend a lot of time at my sister's home, my dad's place, and lots and lots of bars to get any type of TV (outside of maybe 7) for the summer of '04 (when I wasn't working my second job), but once I got the dish connected to my TVs, it was worth the wait! I'd rather spend about $10 less to get twice the channels that Comcrap has to offer, and Comcrap wasn't even offering Boomerang (i.e. classic Hanna-Barbera)! ;D

Maybe, Macy's will buy out Comcast... ;) Then all the programming would be dumped on one station. [ Inside joke ]

UPDATE

COMCAST UPDATE:

Guess I caught Comcast in one of its scams.
The customer service person I spoke to today said that it was too expensive for them to track down the work order they said I signed so that they could charge me. As a result, they credited my account.

In truth, the are admitting there was NO signed work order by me and hoped I would be quiet if they credited my account.

Not a chance. I even told the customer service rep that I would go on this board tonight to expose Comcast's scam further.

So, be careful - be very careful and read every line on your
Comcast bill.

Don't get ripped off further by CONcast !

If you need to get a new Comcast digital cable box beware.
The tech I spoke with said Comcast bought these cheap small receivers that do no have a station digital read-out or clock and they are forcing them on its customers. They don't work as well as need repair...another scam so that CONcast technicians will have to come into your house and charge you for equipment you are RENTING from them.
CONcast - CONcast .....CONcast ...CONcast...CONcast...CONcast
