I still get confused by the two Mark Walberg/Wahlbergs....

Shouldn't surpise anyone, but I'm confused. Mark "Wahlberg" is the brother of New Kids On The Block standout, Donny Wahlberg. Mark himself performed with NKoTB briefly. So, tell me-- who is this Walberg without an "h"?

Oh, and, 'ahem'--- back to Bea Benaderet...

For almost all of his appearances until co-starring on "December Bride" in the mid-50's, Harry Morgan was billed as "Henry" despite his given name being Harry Bratsberg.
Morgan changed his first name to Harry to avoid confusion with a then popular, controversial NY columnist, "Henry" Morgan. Henry M. was a popular panelist on TV game shows, giving him greater TV exposure. Stage and TV actor William Daniels made the same kind of name turn to avoid confusion with popular musician "Billy" Daniels.
...I'm positive that Henry Morgan had not started his column yet when Harry Morgan changed his billing name; Henry had been a utility announcer for WOR New York in the 1930s and, IIRC, even acted in an episode of The Shadow during the 1937-38 season when Orson Welles and Agnes Moorehead had starred on that show (the familiarity between Welles and Morgan came in handy when Welles appeared on I've Got a Secret in October 1956, when Morgan was able to get away with a fat joke to Welles' face, and Welles later addressed Morgan by his birth name, "Van Ost"). Another example of changing a name to avoid TV-connected confusion is a certain British rock singer whose real name was David Jones, but to dodge confusion with the Manchester-born co-star of Coronation Street and The Monkees the lesser-known Jones changed his last name to Bowie...

And Mike Minor got confused with a special effects artist of the same name.

...and an up and coming young southpaw with the Atlanta Braves. And, PS, way to go getting us back on topic...

Sorry to veer here....Braves eh? How about their former (and Giants') player Brett Butler, who of course shared a name with the "Grace Under Fire" female star? But yes back to Bee/Bea.

I thought Henry Morgan (the actor) had to change his name much earlier than the 50's since i believe the rule was the same then as now, that AFTRA and SAG members cannot have the same name.

Henry Morgan (the NY TV personality and radio show host) was an AFTRA member. He would later become a SAG member as well since he did do some film work.

The 'other' Mark hosted lesser-known game shows in the '90s, and now appears on the US version of 'Antiques Roadshow':

In July 1964, Henry Morgan (the comedian) caused a huge controversy when he was scheduled to appear on The Mike Douglas Show--which was still coming from Cleveland at the time. Morgan appeared at the start of the show and was scheduled to come back on later. However, in between those appearances, Douglas brought on Dr. Sam Sheppard, his new wife and his lawyer, F. Lee Bailey. Just one week earlier, Sheppard had been released (pending another trial for the murder of his first wife) after almost 10 years in prison. Morgan raged backstage about how they could let on someone convicted of a murder, especially when he had to tell jokes afterward. Morgan then stormed out of the studio.

...as late as the theatrical film Under Fire, released in 1957, Harry was billed as just "Henry Morgan." Starting with Teahouse of the August Moon in 1956, he began being billed as "Henry {Harry} Morgan," a name he used until a 1963 appearance on Have Gun - Will Travel." Henry Morgan (the New York broadcaster and comic) had started his occasional film career in 1948 with So This is New York, an early Stanley Kramer production (which, ironically, Morgan had to travel from New York to Hollywood to make)...
