"Howard Beale" quietly and respectfully returned to his board on February 14th (I just happened upon it tonight). He offers an explanation for his absence and reason for not returning to his blog. I think we all got caught up in the antics of local media through the eyes of an insider, and I always looked forward to his posts. I understand your reasoning, Howard, and wish you well.

I'm glad he's back but you have to do it everyday to build an audience.

I do wonder what the phone call was about...was it about someone in the "business?" or what? Anyone have any ideas? Whatever it was, it must of happened after July 29, 2007, since that was his last blog, until now.
 
The strongest story making the rounds is that Beale either got outed or accidentally outed himself quite some time ago. I've repeatedly heard a name, but it's not likely it would ring any bells on this board. Honest, it's a name I'd never heard before. Put another way, it's not someone from inside any media outlet here in the Scr/W-B area.
 
I heard that, too. Relative outsider fed by local tips. I still have my suspicions that it's a specific local person, but you never know.
