Beans & Rice & Rot?

In the industry trades, Ramsey is celebrating his 1 Billionth download... ie. via the listeners he primarily stole away from his affiliate radio stations by driving them to his podcast.

Stations that sell their soul to Ramsey sacrifice their overall ratings and a portion of their listeners in exchange for a few bucks today. It's a deal with the devil in an era where maximum listener retention is imperative with all the media choices that abound.

Make the bad man stop!

So true. It's also true for straight infomercials and has been for years.

Just listened to Ramsey’s speech in entirety and I must say he brings up some very good straightforward thoughts. However, there are some limits to his “I got your six (back)” theory. Such as if someone is doing something illegal or hurtful. Though he briefly addresses this. All that said, I still think many of his followers can be a bit on the “cultish” side and he does come off as a person who always thinks he is right.

It seems like right-wing social or traditional media has long harnessed 'cult-ish' tactics to develop and keep their follower's-following. Some listeners/viewers seem to get more deep into the cult than other's. Either way, broadcasting weird conspiracy theories or lies that resonate with those looking for someone to acknowlege their equally weird theories has become much more commonplace over the last six years.

Dave Ramsey fired staffer for taking Covid precautions, lawsuit says

Radio personality Dave Ramsey allegedly fired one of his employees for taking Covid-19 precautions, such as wearing a mask at the office and requesting to work from home, according to new lawsuit
“..Mr. Ramsey stated that fear of working in the office because of Covid demonstrated ‘weakness of spirit,’” the lawsuit said.

“Ramsey believed taking preventative measures were against the will of God,” the complaint stated.

When Amos raised his concerns, stating his family was at high risk because his wife has a predisposition for pneumonia and his child has Coats' disease, he was told to “pray and keep moving forward,” the lawsuit stated.

How does this guy employ 900 workers? Don't these "gurus" usually refer listeners to "financial advisors" in their "network" in exchange for a fee! It can't take that kind of staff to distribute his books and other bling.

I believe they are doing a lot of financial planning in house these days. And by that I mean online. It actually is a brilliant strategy. The radio show is just a way to sell their other services.
