Bearcats Basketball on WKRC Radio

Just noticing that broadcasts of University of Cincinnati basketball games now move over to WKRC 550-AM Radio when they conflict with Bengals' broadcasts on WLW. That has been the case the last two Sundays. I guess a part of that is WEBN (where UC football & basketball has moved in the past when the Reds were on WLW) is also carrying the Bengals broadcast.

I think moving the games there is a better choice than WKFS - 107.1-FM the station where they have moved a couple of times in the past. I've always felt WKRC's day-time signal gets very little mention which may be because of the historic power of WLW and WCKY. There were a number of seasons - beginning back in the 1960's - when UC football & basketball was carried on WKRC. The last time was the 1994-95 basketball season.
 
Running the UC games on 55KRC is where I got my start as a board-op in 1978! John Phillips trained me. I would feed scores to the booth using the AP (or UPI) ticker tape I would tear off from the news room.

That was a great place to start!
