Beasley buying 95.5 translator..

WIXV & WSB-FM will rip it apart, especially in the Summer......

G

....checking out the 95 Rock Facebook page says different...

Any idea on how the 95.5 situation is coming along? 95 Rock continues to say they're working on a much better signal to come soon, but no details are given as to when. I'm pretty sure the 95.5 is going to broadcast 95Rock.

I'll bet Augusta rock fans are mad. Once completed, looking at the FCC map, it looks like the 95.5 translator will cover the market pretty well (save for the Aiken side). Much better than 93.1.

....seen on their FB page end of this month or first of the year...

Great news for Augusta rock fans. Also, any idea on how the 104.3 CP is coming along to move it to the 105.7 tower? Last time I checked, their signal seemed weaker up this way (but it might have been the weather).

I know they got the CP, but was not sure if they had moved yet. I'm in Laurens county, SC and always get 104.3 and 105.7 well (actually, better signal from 105.7)
I was even getting RDS in the car on 104.3 this afternoon, so it's still pretty strong here. The move may not affect me much since I can get 105.7 well and it has equal power.

Clear Channel may be doing it to save costs, because they can operate both stations from one facility as opposed to two, and not lose any market coverage.

But, isn't the WBBQ tower in Edgefield OWNED by WBBQ and the 105.7 stick is LEASED on the WAGT tower in Beech Island???

95 Rock fired up 95.5 today at 5PM. The 93.1 signal will remain, as well.

The FCC says WGUS-A is feeding W238AU 95.5....is 1480 rock now? The Aiken listeners are apparently still left out in the cold, and that's unfortunate as it seems that there would still be a decent audience for it there. In the long run, I think the rock format should be on 95.5 (Augusta) and 102.7 (Aiken).

Then again, I don't see why Beasley didn't just put WGAC on 93.9 and leave 95Rock alone...

They didn't intend on listeners getting this fired up about it. I'm with you about 102.7 though. Have 95 Rock on 93.1, 95.5, and 102.7. From a few people, they said they can get 95.5 with a little static in Aiken.

1480 still spanish....should have just put 95 rock back on 95.1 & moved WGAC to the 95.5 to cover the city....

1480 now broadcasting the rock......ummm where will the spanish go...

95.5 has to relay something, so they're relaying 1480. Thought they would have fed it through an HD2. Spanish should go to 93.1, perhaps - what good is that signal to 95 Rock now?

Moving 95 Rock off of 95.1 was a mess. I was rather surprised at the backlash, as well, but it's understandable. Nobody else would have gone rock, and what is there besides 105.7 and maybe an occasional rock song on 98.3? 102.3 is more rhythmic leaning.

95.5/102.7 make a good simulcast. I think Beasley made a big flub with this one (flipping 95.1), but at least they're trying to fix it.

...yep...about as bad as switching formats between WBBQ and WZNY 105.7 years ago...
