Central Jersey Beasley cuts

I realized there was no announcement about who would be PD/on air for DHA and MGQ after the cuts.

Looks like from the websites, Carl Craft from WRAT took over as PD for DHA, and Matt Knight from WJRZ took over MGQ. No midday jocks are listed for DHA or MGQ. I wonder if they intend to have PT people rotate or just leave it jockless.

It's sad to see what is happening to the company that George Beasley built from a 500 W daytimer in Benson NC. Can't figure if it is bad management or just the state of the industry or both.

Was just about to say that. Carl's LinkedIn profile is updated with PD of WDHA-FM.

Congrats to Carl. Had the pleasure to work weekends at WRAT in the '90s and he was a great boss. Took the time to sit down and do regular airchecks with me when I was still getting my feet wet. The station's lineup has shifted a bit over the last few years, but the fact he held the core group of full-timers together for 20+ years is a real accomplishment.

Can't figure if it is bad management or just the state of the industry or both.

They took on a lot of debt when they bought Greater Media in 2016 and haven't recovered.

They bought at close to the top of the market, paid $240 million for stations that are worth less than half that now.
