Beasley-KDWN I think you may have let us down

Kudos on your news operation, however as as the de-facto heritage station in Vegas I was hoping overall programing would be along the lines of one of the these stations KGO -local talk programming and drive time news blocks -all local 24 hours a day, KMOX-morning news block, all local programing 21 hours a day 3 for Rush. WBZ -all news 5a-8p all local talk rest of broadcast day. I will listen to KDWN in morning drive and to Michael Savage but probably not to mediocre national shows. Not to late to restore local programs that many already miss.

I have the email address of the head person of Beasley here in Vegas...I am not sure if I am allowed to post it on this board or not. I will give to anyone who wants it to comment on this new format. I sure am going to offer up my two cents' worth.

Look at the ratings. There weren't many people left to miss those shows.

The old KDWN was to heritage AM radio what Ed Wood Jr. was to Cecil B. DeMille.

Hey Smedge...

Why don't you post a link to the ratings you're looking at.

It was my understanding that the Morning Show with Hart Kirch and Ken Stahl wasn't doing poorly in the ratings.

The former KDWN morning show with Hart and Ken ranked a very poor #23 25-54 in the most recent trend. This compares to KXNT which ranked #13. Even KNUU slightly beat out KDWN in AM drive. Most AMs do better 55+ than 25-54 but even in upper demos KXNT is the only AM with decent numbers.

Speaking of morning drive, Piolin on 103.5 LA NUEVA is not only #1, he has the highest morning ratings I have ever seen.

Re: radio news in vegas...jd wells was right

on this board there was a person that said vegas is number 31 and sacramento, CA is number 19 and therefore a news operation was not a good idea for vegas...people wjho said that breaking news stories needed radio coverage were made fun of....now kxnt , kdwn and kdox are in the news game.

..kdwn sounds like 770 in new mexico....and no local talk ...it is crap....kfi kgo etc are better stations...because they have some local shows
