Beasley Layoffs

I imagine Mason Dixon will still be very active with Christmas Wish even without a platform on the radio.

Unless one of the other clusters takes him in between now and December.
 
He's still voice tracked this morning. Must of been told the news after the tracks were done. I really hope they give him his due and let him sign-off professionally. Not likely.

I hope he bends Carolyn Beasly over but good on his payout on that contract.

Up in Boston they cut people with 25+ years of employment at the same stations under different ownership.... this was after Beasley had Greater Media sh*tcan a WHOLE bunch of people before the sale closed a few years back.

The #1 show across all demo's and on the #5 billing station nationwide cut the morning producer, and the air talent is pissed off royally. These guys are the 1000 pound gorillas of Boston Radio so I bet Beasley will give them back their guy rather than piss them off anymore than they have

Or they could fire them too if they complain too loudly. No one is irreplaceable.
 
The
Beasley has a reputation for makeing some really bad decisions over the years. Gotta a feeling that hits will just keep on coming.
The results Beasley is getting in Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit, and even Charlotte speak otherwise.
 
Keep in mind that an "RIF" or euphemistic "Reduction in Force" is often a way to sweep out people who would make claims based on age, gender, and even race if they were let go in a single action. In an RIF, the company shows a wide reduction in staff size, and it is hard to make a specific claim otherwise.

I was part of an RIF where the highest paid people in every area except general management and sales management were fired. Amusingly, they couldn't make an exception for me so they contracted me the same day as a consultant for more money! I still can't really understand that one.
 
We have seen actions like this in many industries lately. Salaried employees are let go but then brought back as contractors. It is away for a company to reduce their fixed overhead and reduce an employe's salary without really giving him/her a cut in pay. It also generally cuts the cost of insuring that person plus the employer's portion of payroll taxes.

They reduced salary and benefits expense which was probably their goal, there was obviously room elsewhere in the budget to keep you on in a different capacity
