These days, there are better opportunities for these Idol contestants in the media than in making music.

Kellie Pickler is co-hosting a syndicated TV show. Kellie was also a Season 5 finalist.

Kellie did OK as a recording artist for a while, had a few country hits. Pretty sure Ayla never even got a contract.

She never had a "major" label deal, but probably some minor label to self release stuff she could sell at venues and her website.

IMHO would show up anywhere there was a microphone and a sound guy to play her backing tracks...

Remember that AI thing was 2006 .... 12 years is a long time to milk it

Now my next question is... her qualifications are WHAT? NO background in radio or media that I am aware of... whooop de dooo she got a degree in "communications" 8 years ago when she was not busy playing basketball.

And yet she gets her first On Air position in a top 10 market.....

At least Howie Carr got his daughter a hack job with the potential of a pension in the Trump administration.

Remember, it's a "side-kick" job. Hasn't Matty had side-kicks that came up through the intern ranks, and showed promise?

Didn't Sunny JW find people with potential and gave them their first time job on Kiss?

I don't know Ayla, although I have met her a few times. She is very personable, bright, engaging, a Bostonian, etc.

Good for Beasley for giving her a chance.

Ummm….wasn't American Idol on TV? That sounds like background in media to me.

Plus she's conversant in the music. How much experience do the DJs have to talk about music?

So, what was the rumor about why Hannah and Jackson parted? It seemed...abrupt.
 
Listening now; quite a bit of music, not talk.She and Jackson did a "Missed Connections" bit with a listener.Not too bad. Did a phone interview with her on WMWM last year.

She's now doing "the hot list", celeb news.
