THE FOLLOWING TAKES PLACE IN A FICTICIOUS UNIVERSE, OR DOES IT???
Beasley Broadcasting announced that in preparation for PPM it will cease operation of it's remaining 3 Las Vegas Radio Stations (KCYE,KKLZ, KDWN) during non crucial PPM Hours. "Essentially we will only broadcast morning and afternoon drive programming on our stations" according to Brian Beasley, who added "both of our remaining share holders agree that this cost cutting measure will greatly enhance our position in not only Las Vegas but within the entire radio community." Beasley also noted "with PPM, or however it is spelled, we will now have the opportunity to streamline our operation." When asked about FCC broadcast day requirements and serving the community Beasley responded "huh?"
Beasley continued, "the planned outages will give the engineering department much needed time to service and update equipment. During the dayparts the stations are not running regular programming, a metronome will be heard. It works for the US Government on their shortwave stations, so we figure this will give local musicians something to use to record new music or for listeners to just hum their own songs." Beasley concluded; "METRO 96-3, METRO 107.2 and METRO 720 will be a hit, I'm sure of it."
Director of Sales Corey Cuddlebug believes the plannned changes will have little effect on the cluster, "we cant sell what we have now, so having fewer hours to worry about should make selling even easier." KKLZ Program Director Shawn Lynch was busy sending out his resume and was unavailable for comment. KDWN Interim Program Director John Schaffer could only add "I'm just the interim PD, I do what they tell me." KCYE Program Director Justin Chase noted, "Tom Humm is brilliant! He's managed to keep this place afloat this long and no doubtably will find an angle that will keep our stations viable in Las Vegas.
Market Manager Tom Humm, who has most likely grown used to really dumb ideas coming from the corporate office in Florida, didn't return phone calls.
