Beasley, WRDW's - Plus, an update on its sister.

As I speculated,

As CHRles said, best hope of dance in Philly is airplay on Wired. ......... Adding certain dance songs to the playlist will create good synergy between the stations- which will matter once advertising starts to become a factor on hd radio.

Wired has followed the steps of its sister station, however, it isn't one of the dance songs from Power that was added. Instead, Ida Corr is number 52 in rotation, last played (from this writing) at 10:32pm on March 27th.

Also of note, on WPOW, INOJ "Love You Down" is number 70, and Alice Deejay "Better Off Alone" is number 60.

I listen a little bit on the weekends (to wpow) and have heard alice deejays better off alone on wpow in regular rotation, whats great though is the mixshow at 10pm.. id say its about 60% upbeat music (house, this new bass sound ala colby odonis, grind mode, and old school booty)

Im thinking WPOW should go further and add A little bit of ecstasy or mona qs stay in love as recurrents.. Those were both huge on the station around 1997 / 1998..

Just FYI, Yes.com's chart is not accurate. There several songs that are no listed properly. Example last year one of the Bob Sinclar tracks came up at Yves La Rock. Plus their top song list is completely off. I have had several discussions with MediaGuide about this, since we are a reporting station. Wired is going to toe the line just like Q102. They might play a few dance tracks but they arent going to be what we would call current dance friendly

Beasley will probably copy Power 96.5 in Philly. If Power 99 didn't exist, maybe the 96.5's in Philly and Miami would simulcast. Both stations sound very similar with the hip hop, and both the HD2s sound similar. In 2005, Wired had Crazy Frog in heavy rotation, over 110 spins a week at its peak.

Crazy Frog was a novelty record. It got hot with ring tones. A lot of CHR's played it. Is anyone playing Crazy Frog anymore?
