Beasleys KDWN vs Radio Nevadas KDWN

After almost 9 months of the new KDWN not a significant change in ratings out today. All you seasoned broadcasters and listeners liberals and conservatives what made better radio a top 40 no personality sounding morning anchor with traffic overkill and a less than mediocre morning talker or seasoned morning talents with top notch announcing skills like Truman Hawkins ,Hart Kirch and Ken Stahl.

Looking at the trends, the monthly breakout shows that KDWN actually went significantly down over last year. It seems apparent that the Tru's and Hart's of the KDWN past, work better than what they are doing now.

I heard the Heidi Harris show for a couple of days.....some of the worst talk I can honestly say I've heard in years. I'm confused with the newsblock also, as it sounds like they are trying to be a major news station in a "dog bites man" market. But at least they're trying. I miss the first hour of Bortz, though.

What?

Seriously, I read that three or four times and it makes no sense at all. I gather that you like the old KDWN more than the new KDWN. That's fine, but you did a pretty lousy job of making the argument.

I'm not sure 720 has the perfect formula, but at least they're trying. They've got a lot of work to do to train listeners in this market to go to AM radio for news. I wonder why Beasley stopped running television commercials so soon after the launch. Wouldn't it have been better to a sort of "soft" launch, work out the kinks, and then promote?
