Beck and Hannity dropped from The Big Talker in Philly

Anybody know what's going on in Market #8? WPHT is reportedly dropping the once-iconic Beck and Hannity shows to clear the way for a realingment of programs. A new morning man from KC and current morning guy Michael Smerconish will bookend Rush, and Beck/Hannity are out

Wouldn't count on that happening around here, considering the political leaning of East TN.

From what I've read, it was a move to go more local. Whether the motivation was financial, Beck and Hannity's syndicators having an FM deal in the works, or simply the idea that local talent would be more popular, I don't know.

I would say that I'd like to see more stations in East Tennessee look for local talk show talent rather than simply filling in whatever they can get on syndication, but I don't know if one can look to this move and see any motivation for the stations in the area.

Philly's Big Talker's 12+ shares have increased over tha past 3 months (3.8, 3.9, 4.0), but tha station dropped from #9 to #10. Does CBS' analysis of tha numbers reveal something about those shows? Can PPM measurement be revealing a slide in their popularity? There have been rumors that Beck is better on TV than radio, so are more cancellations on tha way? If you go to tha radio-info home page and click on tha story you will see that WPHT is keeping Rush in mid-days, bringing in a new morning guy and switching their current morning guy to afternoons. CBS owns 5 of tha top 20 stations in Philadelphia, including Talk, News, Sports, & Rock formats, so they could probably find a place for these shows unless they just want rid of them.

Could this cancellation of Beck and Hannity have an imp
