Beck grows on WHLO

Seems the impact of Glenn Beck on WHLO/Akron has caused them to add the 9am hour of his show to their schedule, replacing the rerun of Quinn & Rose's first hour that airs on the 500w signal.Meanwhile, The Big One doesn't see fit to even air the weekend version of the show. What a genius Kevin Metheny must be to make programming decisions based on who he likes. Ironic seeing that he used to be on the air and no one ever liked him.

???WHLO is not 500 watts when Beck is on. They are only 500 watts at night. At the time of the day when Beck is on, WHLO broadcasts with 5,000 watts and has a fantastic signal east, west and south of Akron. They just don't get north (toward Cleveland) very well, due to their need to protect the station in Chatham, Canada (just over the lake) on 630.

I meant to say that the Q&R 9-10am rerun was purportedly done because the first hour, from 6-7am, was heard on the lower power, hence the need to replay it three hours later for those that couldn't hear it. As if people listen for four hours in AMD.
