BEE-DONE with the music.

Well as I predicted about 3 months ago B101 will be playing Madonna soon.
It happened today 11/9/07 during 12-1 hour.ED played "Lucky Star".
Trust me I love 80's music but it seems WWBB is really adding them now with the Van Halan's,Bon Jovi's etc.
GOD I'm getting old.

The song is 24 years old. To people in radio songs don't seem as old because depending on the formats you've worked they're fresh in your mind. I still wonder if they should remain the kind of classic hits station that plays both You Can't Always Get What You Want and Madonna. If you like one chances may be you hate the other. I still think B101 has made strides but hasn't really been focused enough.

You have to realize that playing Madonna in 2007 is the same thing for B101 now as when they played The Beatles back in 1990. It's still music from 25 years ago. So it seems that B101's format has remained exactly the same! I bet that you didn't look at it that way. :)

I see it that way in a sense but it seems the Bee is playing what is droped or will be droped by SNE.
Personally, WSNE needs a 20 year overhaul because the WWBB and WSNE are are almost the same.
As for B101 now playing Madonna during locally produced shifts and syndicated shows still going into the 60's it sounds wierd.

The sad part is, it's showing that Radio stations have such a limited playlist. You can't even tune into a radio station and hear Elvis anymore. If stations will drop such an icon as ELVIS, than who's next to go? THE BEATLES, THE ROLLING STONES? Unfotunately it's looking like one day the only way you'll be able to hear these Rock and Roll legends is to either own their CD's or download their music from the internet.

I was just on E-Bay.....

...and I saw a Buzzy The Bee costume.....

Kenny, hurry up and bid on it.....
