Before Martini 106.1: Country Legends 106?

Hey Guys:

Could you help me out on this one. I saw on a previous old post that before Martini 106.1 the station was WKSY Classic country "Country Legends 106". Is this true? And if so how long was the format? For some reason I don't remember WKSY being classic country.

They were Soft AC "Sunny 106.1" before the switch to Martini. They flipped from classic rock "Eagle 106" (which was simulcast on then-co-owned 106.3 KXOR) to Soft AC in January 2001. Before Eagle, they were Kiss Country 106.1 from 1997 to 1999 and alternative "the Zephyr" before that. Going back even further, they moved into New Orleans from SW Mississippi (where they were a Oldies station) in 1991 as CHR/Rock "Z106.1, New Orleans' Untamed Radio."

No problem. It's either this or spend all day adjusting Vince Marinello's toupee. I mean, we're BFFs now and all, but it gets old after a while.
