BEGGING FOR HOTNESS VOTES

Friends in radio...I have a question to pose for feedback. While punching around the dial I have been hearing women in morning radio begging for votes in some hottest women in radio contest. I was intrigued and I checked out to see what they were fired up about on their webpages and facebook. Wow, I was of embarassed for them. They were just begging for votes to make it into this contest. In fact, Emily and Elaina(why is she even considered a woman in radio..she did a not so great stint for news) no joke, the two of them were begging and grovelling for this contest, complete with mandatory sexy vampy come hither photos. Every other entry was a reminder for everyone, even promising something "sexy" if they made it. Are these people this vain now and would stoop so low for this? I flat out felt sorry for them and their desperation. With the listenership, I am sure the DSC minions will get them in (only because they don't let anyone forget it). And Ashlee at Rock 105 had a whole glamour shots thing. At least she has got more going for her. And hey we guys like beautiful women who are hot. But what am I missing with those two, let alone the whole thing. Again Dave will utter the orders for the minions and they will jump and vote. But again, what are you all doing???Ashlee, you could see her in something like this. She has some pretty nice photos. But going this far to be considered hot. Huh. So I got to thinking...and this is my angle, the top women in the biz here: Coe, Cindy Spicer, Hillary, Robin Roth, these women are in a whole different league. And I know I am missing a couple more, but again another league. And they don't strike me as ever lowering their standards and integrity to beg for votes to be hot in something like this. Hey, if you have to ask to be voted to be hot...you aren't. It's pretty sad and if you check it out, I think you will see. So I ask, men what do you think? And ladies, I really would like to hear your thoughts. It kind of feels like it set women back 100 years. Inquiring minds want to know.... :-\
 
Will this be as good as Playboy's March 1986 "Radio Visions" article which included lots of topless lady DJ's including Kristi Knight?
 
Elaina from DSC is absolutely beautiful!!! There is zero doubt in my head that she is magazine cover beautiful! To disparage her looks is very very low. I have known all three of these women that you mentioned. Ashlee is not that great looking...and she is has the lowest IQ of anyone in radio. Elaina is extremely intelligent and a very sweet young lady that just happens to be beautiful! And I believe that it was Dave Rickards that put them up to it so go easy on Elaina!
 
Well said KOGO, no disrepect at all whatsoever. Just wasn't sure if she was truly a woman of radio. Not a long career if you get my drift. But truthfully, no disrespect. I am sure she is a terrific girl. That wasn't really the angle. It just seems odd about the begging thing. Just wanted to know thoughts. I guess I would have the guts to hammer people to vote for me into something like that. But KOGO, thanks for the thoughts, it wasn't meant to have such a bad interpretation. Respect...
 
I appreciate that. She does do both on-air for Jack and she works in the promotions department. Her Father has also worked in TV for many years they are a long line of broadcasters.
