Beginning of the End for MundoMax?

NRJ in US always means the station is either doomed, or may become a worthless station with a useless affiliate...

Also, WSPF-CD in Tampa may switch to America TeVe as it's primary affiliate, because WSPF's website isn't available.

KFWD/Dallas (currently MundoMax, and former Telemundo and English independent) is switching to the Sonlife Network on September 1st.

Good find.

I'll have to keep an eye out on WXCW-DT2, the MundoMax affiliate in the Fort Myers market (which airs in HD; the SD feed on DT3 was shut down months ago).

Alas, it appears MundoMax will soon be gone

From the moment Fox International Channels dropped its stake in the Spanish-language broadcast network now known as MundoMax, the channel’s future looked questionable.

Now there’s no question. MundoMax is done.

The network has all but stopped producing new programming, sources tell Media Life, and it’s not renewing contracts with its affiliates.

They expect RCN TV Group, which bought out Fox’s stake in the network last year, to shut down MundoMax sometime over the next few months.

“They haven’t produced anything new in quite a while,” says a manager at a company that owns several MundoMax stations out West.

RIP MundoMax 2012-2016 :(

i think the other stations will fill the void of MundoFox/MundoMax with something else past Nov. 30. some will replace it with religious content similar to what happened with KFWD when the drop the network for the religious network of SBN. others will switch to another Spanish Language network like Estrella TV, some may switch to one of those networks created to give content to subchannels (MeTV, AnntennaTV, etc.) or 24/7 infomercial channels and the rest could just go dark and never be on the air again.

KWHY in Los Angeles is running a month long (?) Spanish Movie Marathon with a promise of Southern California based new programs in 2017 (best guess as my limited knowledge of the language can translate) Most interesting of the post Mundo Max changes
