Beginning ot "The End"?

Hey y'all,

I was back in Charlotte this past week and checked out the local radio obviously. One thing that got my attention was 106.5 running sweepers about the 'beginning of The End' and mentioning that this year's weenie roast was the last one. Is something going on soon at the 10-year-old 'alternative wannabe'?

Seems like that would be more like "The end of The End".

I do know that they will be moving "The End" and "The Beat" over to Woodridge Center Drive with the rest of the CC stations, but the building addition isn't supposed to be finished until the first of the year.

I don't see what else would make sense format wise. It's probably a ploy to get people talking.

> No, it is a play on words....their sweepers say Beginning of the End meaning the song that follows that sweeper is a song from when they first hit the airwaves...so circa 1995. They are not going off the air. The End lives on :)

I hate to see the End go. But, I've always wondered if a Spanish FM in Central NC could make a pile of money. Especially one that throws a powerful signal into two major markets, and the growing spanish-speaking areas around Siler City and Asheboro.

I figure if Clear Channel is going to take a carolinas station Spanish, it would either eb 106.5 or 105.7 (hence the antenna move). Either of those two would not shock me.
