Behringer DSP9024 Help! Can't find the internal relay

Hey guys...

I have a Behringer DSP9024 that apparently has a bad relay. The relay activates during a power outage, to keep audio moving through when the unit has no power. I'm trying to locate said relay, but right now it seems hidden. Could it be inside the power supply transformer?

I don't have a service manual, and Behringer no longer supports this item (how nice).

Thanks in advance!

Did you take a look at the owner's manual? There's a functional block diagram that shows the relay's position in the audio chain - it might be helpful in locating it.

Also keep in mind the "relay" could be an isocoupler - which looks like an IC.

I do have an owners manual, but there are no block diagrams, etc. It's just the basic operational type manual.

Before the failure occured, I saw the unit encounter a continuous attempt to restart itself. Each time it did this, I heard a clicking noise similar to what a relay would sound like.

The block diagram is on page 39 of the owner's manual - if it's not in the one you have, it appears in the one linked above. HTH!

Oh my, I must have overlooked that! Thanks :)

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, was replacing the relay helpful?

Thanks,

I had one at a small station but just ended up replacing the unit with a DBX Quantum. The 9024 is very underpowered for most any purpose except very light processing, so unless you have a big financial investment in the box I would seriously consider something a little better.

Light processing was the intended use. :) I have some wish list items to install after the 9024.

By the way, I think I have resolved the problem I previously mentioned. It looks like the unit has to remain powered up for awhile, after changing the Lithium battery. I've got it working now, I just need to put the case back on and reconnect the audio cables to test it.

Thanks all!
