Belle Glade FM WBGF

Late last year, shortly after the long-time general manager Phil Haire passed away, The station was already allocating time after 7pm every night for spanish programming. New management decided that there was a big audience for a Regional mexican format on FM so the change was made to "El Gran Perro" which is spanish for "The Big Dog".

You have to be kidding? "Perrona" which regers to a dog, means "fabulous" in coloquial Mexican Spanish, but El Gran Perro is senseless. "La más perrona" is a common slogan for hard core regional formats.

Hey Guys:

Would anybody know when in 1996 did WBGF go to country?
BGI acquired it 6-11-96 and was shortly after they changed formats from AC to Country.

Thanks

T.J.
