It was such a nice day that I decided to spend some of Christmas at the beach since the weather was finally back to the way it should be after all the cold and it's going to get cold again.
This time, I decided to try Belleair Beach which is on a different barrier island south of Clearwater Beach which is thinner and more isolated. The reception there was better than Clearwater Beach for the usual daytime across the Gulf stations.
I still couldn't get any IDs from some stations I'm still looking for like 1030 KCTA. The mystery station on 550 was still too weak for there to be any hope of getting an ID and I think it's just too far for KTSA to go considering the land it has to cross too.
It was interesting to note there was far less splatter from the local 570 WTBN on 560 and in addition to WQAM (that I once got the ID from up in Dunedin), there appears to be two more stations on the frequency.
Could one of these be KLVI?

There was also little splatter at all from WGUL on to WWL, so you can really appreciate the saltwater path signal at almost 500 miles.
Even though it's such an easy catch, I never did a video exclusively for WWL, so I thought I'd share this one so you really appreciate the saltwater effect!!
They start out talking about the Saints, then Louisiana fishing, then an ID, and then start back with their Christmas music.

BTW, in addition to it being Christmas, today is my 38th anniversary of when I first discovered DXing!
