Bellingham Radio stations to start HD

According to nwbroadcasters.com, KISM 92.9 and KAFE will start their HD broadcasting. Will this affect CKYE RED 93.1 and CHHR SHORE 104.3 in Vancouver? Since HD channels spills +/- .1 FM channel

If it spills over the border and wreaks havoc in any way with CKYE's and/or CHHR's main signals, they'll have to shut it off until they can directionalize it east/southeast. But not too far south or they'll end up stepping on KQMV's, KUBE's, KMTT's and KMCQ's future HD signals. Puget Sound is a natural signal amplifier and that potential is pretty likely.......

Are you sure that KMCQ will destroy two more DX frequencies in the Seattle area in the near-future?!? (104.3/104.7)

They're not now. But the future is something else. I don't know if they're planning HD anytime soon or if their future buyer is. Time will tell.

KAFE's got their HD on. CHHR is all but a memory in the Bellingham area because the I-BUZZ is so strong. I feel the same will happen to CKYE soon when KISM flips theirs on.....

Both stations also now have RDS.

Wonder how Vancouver is putting up with the I-BUZZ.....

CHHR has been wiped off the map in Everett, where many Vancouver stations come in. It's sad to see this happening...
Just as we get started with more first-adjacents causing interference, now it's IBOC. What's next!?!
