Belo's getting worse

Looks like some of the past boo-boos from WFAA's news production quality, are starting to extend to the DMN website. I saw this caption under a picture from a story about the weekend storms: The rain-swollen Trinity River streteched from levee to levee near downtown Dallas Monday morning.

streteched???

Isn't that "streteching" things a bit?

This is what happends when you limit your potential recruiting pool to SMU grads, as belo has done in the past. They've turned a good amount of dummies out of that place in the last decade to the point it isnt even funny anymore. I give ya $20 bucks the web editor who wrote that copy doesnt have an MLA book on their desk.

Point taken (and probably very true) but shouldn't that be an AP stylebook, not MLA? I've never worked in a TV or print newsroom that used MLA. It's for college papers and the like.

Actually there are two books on the editor's desk, and one of them hasn't been colored in yet.
