Ben fm

I really like the direction BEN-FM has been taking. They are really playing some good 80s and 90s songs. I wonder why they are not getting any traction on WOGL. Do you think it has something to do with WOGL's branding and their vacation-a-day giveway? I wonder if it also has to do with the fact that the air personalities on BEN are boring. I just think the music is soo much better on BEN. Any ideas?

A roughly two decade head start with name and brand recognition? Greater resources available from CBS than Greater Media/Beasley (including cross promotion)? Smart moves by WOGL to carefully manage their audience?

Ben adopted the Jack approach and it's given them a fairly decent run--certainly more stable than the rotating formats that had been on 95.7 for a while. Personally, I'm a bigger fan of Ben, but I understand WOGL's pull--I certainly have spent more time with them than in the past since they moved more into the 80s, so to speak.

Ben has kind of maxed out (no pun on previous names intended) in a nice little space for a relatively lower cost format. They're not going to out OGL at their own game.
