BEN fm

I just found out that ben fm is within the top 5 radio stations in A25-54. Hot AC may not be a bad option for WTDY it's struggling against Q102

Yes it would be bad. Because companies run clusters. They aren’t in the business of sabotaging themselves.

Exactly. The reason WTDY shifted from AC to CHR when B101 joined the cluster was to make sure that it didn't jeopardize the audience of it's new AC sister-station. With B101 always skewing a tiny bit hotter to battle off competition (Mix 95.7, Mix 106, Now 97.5 etc.), it's tough to move WTDY in a more adult direction and head-on crash with it's sister station.

WTDY isn't lighting the world on fire, but it makes money. More than WRFF

Totally. And it’s a good combo sales opportunity. Yes they’re the second place CHR, but without a glaring format hole, this is a viable means to make some coin.

96.5 can’t go Hot AC because it’ll run into 101.1’s audience.
Perhaps they could go away from today, and instead be a Pop2k/90s-On-9 mashup like 106.9 The Bomb. Build their own niche

All depends on what Entercom can sell vis a vis the cluster. If being the second CHR brings more value than carving a narrow niche to avoid cannibalization, and without the lost revenue and added expense of building a new brand....then staying the course becomes a viable plan at the present time.
