BEN FREEDMAN

I just learned that longtime jingle producer BEN FREEDMAN has passed away January 9th at age 63 in Plano.

Ben was a terrific guy and legendary for his love of jingles.

I used him many times for various projects and was always pleased with the results.
There are many who would say he essentially "gave away" his jingles (underpriced) just so he could have the fun of making them. It's probably true, his products were inexpensive but excellent quality.

He and his work will be missed.

Sad news indeed. Just spoke with Ben a few days before he passed. We spoke of Ron Chapman's stroke and Ben's recent mini-heart attacks. Ben was a great guy and did great work. He will be missed. My condolences to Noreen. ~JZ

As one of Bens "demo voices" I was sad to hear of this news. Ben and I were first aquatinted when in Buffalo, and a nicer guy, and more savvy jingle production person would be hard to find. He did do excellent work, and stuck with the old school way of doing jingles. He had been in poor health. I wish him peace, and his family serenity.

I first met Ben when he did jingles for my college station at Fredonia State University (WCVF...home of many pros, even Randy Michaels). I did many projects with Ben after that, including a custom package for WSAI/Cincinnati when it was Adult Standards. Always persistent and always open-minded on stretching minimum bucks to the max product. Godspeed Ben!

I'm sure those are Ben's Jingles I'm hearing on probably the best Oldies station I've heard locally nin a long while..the Big14GVL out of Greenville on 1400 AM. Pick it up pretty nice at Lake Highlands...also goes into Plano and N Dallas.
