Bennett to move from Mornings to Afternoons on WTDY

He posted on his socials this morning that he's sliding into the 2-7PM shift starting Monday (plus he'll be adding additional markets). I'm assuming (but definitely not confirming) this makes space for Audacy to launch the Bret Mega show in mornings, like they have on their own KYKY St. Louis, KZPT Kansas City, and KFBZ Wichita.

According to 96.5's schedule on it's website, starting Monday 6-10 is listed as empty, Mike Adam moves to middays displacing Heather Collins, and Bennett moves to afternoons with Bru remaining in nights.

Reading that article that Lance posted in regards to 96.5, now that they have dropped the morning show, it looked like that the new syndicated show "Bret Mega" show, which has plans to go on a national syndication, may be about to be launched on the station. I don't know if this would apply to other Audacy stations in other markets.

Here, in my market(Scr/W-B), there is currently a local morning show on the CHR station owned by the same company that is running for decades. More recently, one half of the crew has retired after 36 years and I saw a job posting on RadioInsight seeking a new morning show co-host. This proves that the station is committed to staying local rather than depending on the syndicated stuff(even though they run Ryan Seacrest from 10a-2pm).

So, those "live-and-local" morning shows are becoming a hard find nowadays.....

Given the fluctuation at 96.5 since then-CBS Radio bought it, it makes sense for them to throw in the towel and syndicate mornings. If Bennett truly was pulling (in the eyes of Audacy) respectable numbers in the morning, I get wanting to shift him somewhere he could be more competitive.

From what I can hear, this isn't a traditional music based morning show. This is along the lines of the TJ Show, which is mainly about the cast of characters.

Ehhh…they are getting cheap too. KRZ is their best station consistently pulling in 9+ share and you have to can the night guy. I guess they want “BRU” in every market . Audacy is super cheap . I’m surprised they haven’t tracked all of the CHR in Chicago …I mean they tried to but the ratings were horrible when they did , so they reversed course.
